Splyc LLC doing business as Splyc ("Splyc," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, and similar technologies on splyc.app and related web surfaces (collectively with our extension and APIs, the "Service"). This Cookie Policy explains what those technologies are for, which categories we use, and how you can control them. Read it together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We use technologies that persist small amounts of data on your device or read data your browser already exposes (for example IP address and headers) to keep you signed in, remember safe preferences, protect accounts, and understand how the product is used in aggregate. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising unrelated to operating Splyc, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Local storage and session storage are browser APIs that let us save keys and values on your device, often with larger capacity than a single cookie. Pixelsor tags are snippets that may request a remote resource so a partner can record that a page was viewed. We group these together as "technologies" in this Policy.
These technologies are required for core security and session features. They may include, for example, HTTP-only session cookies set by our web application or API routes when you log in, tokens that keep you authenticated while you use the dashboard, and values that help prevent abuse (such as rate limiting or bot resistance where we deploy it). If you block these entirely in your browser, parts of the Service may not work (for example sign-in or authenticated clip management).
We store some choices on your device so the interface matches your expectations between visits. For example, we may read and write localStorage keys such as splyc-theme and splyc-theme-variantfor light/dark mode and theme variant. Other product preferences may use local or session storage as we add features. These are first-party to Splyc and are used to improve your experience, not for advertising profiles on other companies' sites.
The Splyc browser extension uses Chrome extension storage APIs (for example chrome.storage) for settings and capture-related state; that is separate from site cookies but serves a similar purpose for the extension experience.
On splyc.app we load product analytics to understand traffic, navigation, and reliability in aggregate:
NEXT_PUBLIC_DATAFAST_WEBSITE_ID is configured in our deployment, we initialize DataFast in cookieless mode for SPA pageviews and lightweight usage signals. If the variable is unset, DataFast does not run. These vendors may process IP addresses, device and browser characteristics, URLs, and timestamps as described in their own notices and in our Privacy Policy (Subprocessors).
When you use features that connect to Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, X, Google sign-in, Stripe checkout, or other integrations, those providers may set or read their own cookies or storage when you are redirected to their domains. Their use is governed by their respective privacy and cookie policies, not this Policy alone.
Browser controls. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and, in many cases, clear local storage from site data settings. You can also use private or incognito windows for a fresh session without persisted cookies (session features may still apply for that window).
Do Not Track. There is no consistent industry standard for how to respond to DNT signals; we do not promise a specific behavior beyond what our subprocessors support.
EU / UK / similar regimes. Where required by law, we obtain consent before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are used, or rely on another valid legal basis as described in our Privacy Policy. Essential cookies and storage needed to provide a service you request may not require consent in those jurisdictions.
For questions about this Policy or to exercise privacy rights (including where applicable access, deletion, or objection), contact privacy@splyc.app. We may add an in-product cookie preference center as the Service matures.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes may be announced through the Service or by email where appropriate.
